October 2011 sees the 25th Anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera in London.
The Phantom of the Opera has been produced in 149 cities, in more than 25 countries around the world and seen by over 100 million people. Its staggering international success is represented by total worldwide grosses estimated at over $5 billion. This colossal figure makes The Phantom of the Opera the most successful entertainment venture of all time, surpassing not only any other stage production in history but also the world’s highest grossing film Avatar and other major blockbusters including The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park and Star Wars. The sequel to The Phantom of the Opera entitled Love Never Dies, opened March 2010 in London and will follow in other territories 2011.
Not only are the iconic mask and shattered writing logos available for licensing but also elements of the original set and costume designs will be accessible for the first time. The 25th Anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera in October 2010 marks an ideal entry point for commemorative products to enter the consumer market. The show has won over 50 major theatre awards including five Olivier Awards.

Album sales through Universal now exceed 40 million and the cast album has gone six times platinum is the US, twice platinum in the UK, nine times platinum in Germany, four times platinum in the Netherlands, eleven times platinum in Korea and thirty one times platinum in Taiwan.
